LiveBetter has an exciting opportunity for a Family Connections Support Worker to join our team. LiveBetter’s Carer and Family Services team provide support to a diverse group of customers across the organisation, with a primary focus on providing carers and their families’ opportunities to overcome obstacles to participate within their communities. The key projects undertaken by Carer and Family Services include Preschools, Carer Gateway, and Care and Early Intervention programs. 

This position is a fixed term part time position 18 hrs/week (Parental Leave Backfill) until 14.03.2027. 

About the role

The Family Connections Support Worker offers a wide range of services for children and families in the Cowra and Young regions. These include but are not limited to individual support of families, supported playgroups, peer support groups, parent education, school holiday activities and community events.

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

• Ability to pass a National Criminal History Check
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and NSW Working with Children's Check
• First Aid and CPR certificates
• Australian Drivers Licence
• Demonstrated experience in the Children’s/Community services sector
• Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills that include strong negotiation, advocacy and networking skills
• IT competency, including the use of Microsoft Office programs and data bases
• Good verbal and written communication skills allowing you to communicate with a range of people
• Experience and understanding of Children’s Services and/or Community Services
• Willingness to travel when needed
