LiveBetter has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Aboriginal Families as Teachers Facilitator in Orange NSW. This position is Fixed Term until December 2029. As an Identified role, this position is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, Australia’s First Nations people. Where a position is identified, an applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and authorised by Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. There are two alternatives to confirming your Aboriginality, one of which must be attached to your application to be considered for the role as follows. About the position The Aboriginal Families as Teachers (AFaT) program aims to empower Aboriginal families to build a developmentally supportive home learning environment and increase access and engagement in age-appropriate learning for Aboriginal children. AFaT focuses on working directly with families and collaborating with early childhood education and care (ECEC) services to encourage age-appropriate learning and access for children aged 0–5 years in a quality, culturally strong early childhood education program. About You: - Self-motivated, ability to prioritise and adapt to changing conditions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
- Empathetic and caring approach with a genuine interest in working with children.
- Experience working within the Early Childhood Sector is desirable.
The successful candidate will possess: - Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and willingness to undertake travel in accordance with responsibilities of the role.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Minimum of Certificate III in Children’s Services or equivalent.
- Hold a current NSW Working with Children Check, (WWCC).
