The Role
This role is about providing consistency, reassurance and support while helping someone maintain independence and engage with support at their own pace.

You'll support a customer to:

• Maintain daily routines and wellbeing
• Access community supports and appointments
• Build trust through consistent, person-centred support
• Exercise choice, dignity and independence
• Participate in meaningful activities and interests
• Receive safe support during periods of heightened stress or distress

You will also:

• Follow Behaviour Support Plans and risk-management strategies
• Respond safely to verbal or physical escalation
• Maintain situational awareness in home and community settings
• Complete accurate documentation and incident reporting
• Report health, wellbeing or safety concerns promptly

We're Looking For Someone Who Is
⭐ Experienced in complex mental health support
⭐ Calm and confident during challenging situations
⭐ Able to maintain professional boundaries
⭐ Flexible when support needs change unexpectedly
⭐ Skilled at de-escalation and rapport-building
⭐ Observant and responsive to risk
⭐ Accurate with documentation and reporting
⭐ Reliable, resilient and accountable

Experience in mental health, psychosocial disability, intellectual disability or complex behavioural support will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements
🔹 Demonstrated experience supporting people with complex mental health needs
🔹 NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
🔹 Current Driver Licence
🔹 Australian Working Rights
🔹 Ability to follow Behaviour Support Plans and safety procedures
🔹 Strong documentation and incident-reporting skills
🔹 Commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed practice
🔹 Willingness to complete customer-specific training and buddy shifts
